Where are we currently?
As of present, EduHisab has just two active users. I say, "active" because we have about 4 users. Just two use frequently and they really like it, alhamduliLlaah. Of the other two, one of them started with it and the user liked it and even sent a glowing review, but they just dropped off. The last user, couldn't, because their school had multiple branches, and we've not figured out a way to handle multiple branches. In summary, just two users, or what people will call alpha release.
What next?
I think we've gotten the product to a very usable stage, we're still finding and fixing some bugs on our own, but, I think I'm ready to open it up to more users, for some reasons:
- The whole Eduhisab (website, admin, app and backend) is deployed on a single DO VPS costing just $6. I want to see how far this can take us.
- The product needs more validation, to give us an insight into what school owners actually face. I know this solves a core problem for them, I just can't gauge currently, how efficient this product is.
How we're launching
By ALlaah's mercies, we've gotten two spots to demo EduHisab next week, on the 8th and 9th of July, 2026. One in Lagos here and the other in Ibadan. It is a gathering of some schools, and based on what I've heard, I'm likely to meet about 80 schools, bi idhniLlaah.
What We Hope To Achieve.
Bi idhniLlaah, ideally, I'm looking to get about 10 schools from each demo session, making 22 schools. That will be enough, at least in my thinking, for stress testing the web app. The Nigerian school calendar is closing its final term for the year, so, if we can get them to use it thoroughly before this term ends, we'll be poised to open it up to the public finally by the start of next session, which is in September.
Challenges
- I'm having a hard time deciding on the pricing model, since the product was born out of a need. That's where getting the users will also prove beneficial. We'll be able to learn what they're willing to pay.
- How to do the actual demo. I've written up some powerpoint presentations, but, the audience is mostly elderly people. we'll see how it goes.
Finally
I'll make an entry next week to update how it went, what I learn and others.
